Current conditions

After a deep freeze this weekend with temps in the teens we developed a few inches of frost in the ground. I cover this topic in a few posts from last winter. We do not have the degree of water on the course now as in these older posts but the information about why we close is still the same. With temperatures in the 40's and windy things should melt and firm back up quickly. Maybe by tomorrow we can get the greens back open. We are having the same issue with the material storage area. We scheduled a rolling for today to compact this area so we can pour the slab but the top is like soup and there is a frost layer down about an inch. When this frost breaks the fill will dry out and firm up enough to work with it.

as far as the Olympic Club repair tool will go. Site of the 2012 US Open

9 green. water has no where to go with frozen layer
