I am hoping to get this post in before the power goes out so excuse any half thoughts or bad grammar. We had quite a cold snap over the last two weeks since my last post. Single digits at night and teens during the day. A couple of inches of snow tossed in for good measure. Needless to say not conducive to golf, even the hearty regulars we have. Right now we have a Nor Easter bearing down with all rain on frozen ground creating a real mess. Heavy winds are predicted and the rain changing to snow with frigid temps again through the weekend. This is not a great scenario for grass, trees or power lines. We may have large areas of ice and that may spell disaster for the grass underneath. We shall see how this all plays out. Maybe the puddles will melt the frost in the ground before the deep freeze?
Here is a graphic about the rain totals for the year that I planned to discuss further in a post but will add a few pictures of the course and get this out there. We had some snow cover yesterday but it was melting/evaporating at a balmy 33 degrees.
